  In our epistemology class, we are speaking of Emerson philosophy on self-reliance and are discussing how our society restricts us from being self-reliant, especially due to our reward system starting from childhood. If we learned through our own experience, instead of what our parents/ society taught us, we would be less inclined to doubt our instincts and thus would act more than just thinking about our actions. This blog definitely supports Emerson’s views of self-reliance and learning to act self-sufficiently! Do you think that in our society today, we can achieve Emerson’s views on self-reliance?
